Our own ask-and-draw picture card game. Ask for a match, make pairs, and listen carefully when it’s your turn to answer.
How to play (adult + child, or solo vs “the pile”)
- Shuffle and deal 5 cards each. Put the rest face-down as the draw pile.
- On your turn, look at your hand and ask: “Got any dogs?” (name a picture you already have).
- If yes, they give you every matching card. Make a pair, put it down, and ask again.
- If no, they say “Go draw!” — take one from the pile. Then it’s the other player’s turn.
- First to make 4 pairs wins — or play until the pile is gone and count who has more.
Spoken practice (adult reads)
- When you ask, say the full question out loud: “Got any cats?”
- When you’re asked, check your hand, then answer Yes or No clearly.
- Optional harder twist: keep hands face-down on the table and remember your own cards.
