Listen and Move

Listen to a chain of silly actions, then do them all in the right order.

⏱ 5 minutes 👂 Auditory memory 👥 2+ players

What you'll need

Just some open space to move in, and the cue cards below for inspiration.

How to play (spoken — specialist style)

  1. Start with a chain of 3 actions. Say the whole list before your child moves, e.g. “Touch your nose, stand on one leg, and clap your hands.”
  2. Your child waits until you finish, then does all the actions in order from memory.
  3. If correct, try 4, then 5, then 6 instructions.
  4. Harder twist: put a condition first — “Before you turn around twice, touch your nose, stand on one leg, and clap your hands.”
  5. Classic twist: mix in “Freeze!” — that action should not be done.
Example chain (4 actions):

"Touch your nose 👃 → stand on one leg 🦵 → clap your hands 👏 → touch your toes 🦶"

Example with “before…”:

"Before you spin around, touch your nose, hop 3 times, and wave hello."

🎛️ Adjusting the difficulty

🟢
Make it easier: start with just 2 actions, or let your child watch you mime the actions as you say them the first time.
🔴
Make it harder: add the "Freeze! = don't move" twist, or ask them to do the chain backwards.
